During splicing, which molecular component of the spliceosome catalyzes the excision reaction?

I would say RNA. However, the snRNPs in the spliceosome catalyze the splicing reaction as a whole. So, if to be more precise, the entire protein-RNA structure of snRNP is responsible for the catalysis. But if you only want 1 answer, I go for (a).
